On this edition of UVa Today Bob Beard talks with Associate Director for Building Services talks about how UVa won a Green Seal. The University of Virginia is the third college in the nation to win a certification from Green Seal for its environmentally safe cleaning services. Green Seal is a non-profit organization that identifies products and services that protect the environment and human health.

As part of the Prince Georges County Transforming Neighborhoods Initiative, Glassmanor Elementary School in Oxon Hill Maryland, participated in the annual National Healthy Schools Day on May 1, 2013.

The program was hosted by the Building Wellness Institute, the nations only Green Seal 42 accredited training program, the Green Seal Organization, the national standards setting organization for certification of green products and services, and Daycon, a regional distributor of green cleaning products.

Receive a 10% discount on Green Seal Certification with Building Wellness Institute Training.

Building service contractors and in-house maintenance teams who successfully complete the Building Wellness Institute GS-42 Training Program are entitled to a 10% discount on their Green Seal Certification fees. That is on top of the recent fee reduction announced by Green Seal in November 2010. Read more.

 

Building Wellness Institute Joins the Healthful Buildings Partnership.

The Healthful Buildings Partnership, a coalition of building owners, facility managers and service providers, has selected the Building Wellness Institute to provide building audit and training services. Participants in the Healthful Buildings program adhere to science-based standards for cleaning to protect health and the environment established by Green Seal, one of the nation’s leading environmental certification organizations.
